It considers communications on indirect exposure to pesticides of family members not employed in agriculture. Age management is one of them; it consists in making a more rational use of human resources in enterprises. This involves, e.g., activities in recruitment, health care, working conditions and work organization. Standardization of basic concepts in analysing machinery safety Włodzimierz Rosochacki, Sławomir Pijanowski This article characterizes selected concepts used in analysing machinery safety in the context of the relevant standards and other publications in this field. It analyses such concepts as damage and threat. The articles shows that some terms used in risk assessment of machinery are ambiguous. It is necessary to define concepts in the field of assessing machinery safety and to adopt common terminology. Threat posed by impulse noise produced by the industry and during explosions Rafał Młyński, Jan Żera, Emil Kozłowski Impulse noise encountered at workplaces, usually related to either metal processing or gunshots and explosions, is a threat to hearing. It should be noted that strong impulses can induce a hearing loss even if caused by a single exposure. The article discusses properties of impulse noise generated by 37 sources typically found in the industry or at the military. The number of minutes and the admissible number of either gunshots or explosions towards which an employee might be exposed at a certain workstation was calculated and provided. Occupational Inventions Weronika Witkowska This article presents important legal aspects regarding an employee who is also an inventor. It also covers the problem of the employer, who is expected to possess knowledge on the matter to minimize the risk of legal responsibility and to maximize potential profits related to the invention at hand, connected with exclusive rights protecting implementation of such inventions in the industry.
